What is MDHA?
The Montana Dental Hygienists’ Association (MDHA) is the professional organization representing the interests of dental hygienists in our state. MDHA is one part of a tri-part structure, our national organization is the American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA). The third part is the local groups or components in each state. In Montana we have eight components: Billings, Butte, Helena, Bozeman, Kalispell, Missoula, Great Falls & Eastern Montana.
MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Montana Dental Hygienists’ Association is to advance the art and science of dental hygiene by improving the public’s total health through: ensuring access to quality oral health care, awareness of cost-effective benefits of prevention, promotion of the highest standards of dental hygiene education, licensure, practice and research; and to provide representation, promotion, and preservation of the interests of dental hygienists.
STRATEGIC PLANNING
Every year the MDHA Board of Trustees gathers for a Strategic Planning Retreat weekend. We look back at the past year to evaluate our goals and strategic plan. Together we make changes, adjustments, and improvements. This time together is also important to get to know each other and have fun in preparation of a busy year with MDHA.
CURRENT MDHA GOALS
1. THE DENTAL HYGIENE PROFESSION WILL ADVANCE THROUGH EFFECTIVE ADVOCACY.
2. DENTAL HYGIENISTS IN MONTANA WILL VALUE MEMBERSHIP AND CHOOSE TO BELONG.
3. THE MDHA WILL BE A VIABLE ASSOCIATION
